Silver Tier Validation Matrix
Target: Functional Minimum
Cup capacity test (2× 250ml)
Place 2 cups filled with 250ml water each on tray. Verify no spillage during normal movement. Tray designed for 1.5–2 kg load capacity.
Total system weight ≤1.5 kg
Weigh complete assembled system on scale. Current estimate: 1,331g with PVC + SG90 servos — under target with 169g margin.
One-handed & two-handed handling
Demonstrate both one-handed hanging carry and two-handed front hold. Verify stability in both modes. Adjust handle positions if needed.
Warning system — multi-level alerts
Verify all 4 alert levels function: Safe (green LED), Caution (yellow LED + slow beep), Danger (red LED + fast beep), Critical (flashing red + continuous alarm). Firmware written, hardware not yet wired.
Battery life ≥6 hours
Continuous operation test with 2000mAh 7.4V LiPo. Power optimization targets: servo sleep when level, dynamic IMU rate. Estimated ~13 hours with optimizations.
Electronics enclosure — no visible wires
Verify all wiring routed inside PVC frame. No external connections visible except charging port. Clean, professional appearance.
Tray cleanability — underwater wash
Remove tray (magnetic + geometric lock, no tools). Wash underwater. Reassemble and verify waterproof seal. Tray material: acrylic or food-grade plastic.
Fail-safe test — power off → horizontal
Power off system and verify tray returns to horizontal resting position. Requires torsion springs on both gimbal axes (not yet implemented). CRITICAL GAP.
Manual lock test — pin lock at horizontal
Engage manual pin locks on both axes. Verify tray stays level without power or active control. Spring-loaded pins with push-button release. Not yet designed.
Gold Tier Validation Matrix
Target: Enhanced Durability
3-cup capacity test (3× 250ml)
Place 3 cups filled with 250ml water. Verify stability with increased load near tray edges.
Splash protection — electronics IP54
Spray water on enclosure, verify no electronic damage. Conformal coating on PCB, silicone gasket seals on joints.
Tray swap — 50% larger replacement
Replace standard 200mm tray with 300mm tray. Same magnetic mount interface. Test balance and swappability.
